What we do with your data
We need some personal information so we can send accurate bills to customers and keep in contact about those services that you receive from us. We will keep your data in accordance with our Data Retention Policy (available on our website).
What are your rights?
Under data protection law you have the right to request access to, rectification, restriction or objection to the processing of your personal data, as detailed in our Privacy Policy (available on our website). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the regulator, the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).
Data sharing
Data is shared within the Council with the Elections Team, Environmental Services Team and Planning Team. Officers from the following departments also have access to Council Tax data to carry out their statutory duty; Reception, Financial Services, Benefits and Housing. We will not use your data for marketing purposes unless you consent to it. We do not pass your details on to third parties unless the Council is lawfully able to do so for the prevention and detection of crime and fraud, or for the collection of taxes. Data may also be lawfully shared externally including with Enforcement Agents, Companies assisting in reviewing Council Tax discounts, Tracing Agents and Credit Reporting Agencies.
